MABPRO ® Management of Assaultive Behavior ® (MAB®) Crisis Response Code Class
This energetic and eye-opening 4-hour training course addresses the important dynamics of when an assistance code team, security, or designated trained participating staff working within a facility are called to assist in a crisis, or requested to help de-escalate, disperse or contain a disruptive or assaultive person who is causing a crisis or creating unsafe environment. The class goes over specific areas of legalities, liabilities and the appropriate responses when called to assist in a potentially volatile
circumstance and how to, and not to, react and over-react in a situation where security or a code team is called, covering the roles and responsibilities of each person involved, along with the possible physical interventions expected. Covered also are the legal use of physical hands-on responses when faced with both clients of the facility, as well as outside individuals and explores the legal differences and liabilities of the appropriateness of either one.
After the lecture, everyone will assist in several videoed problem solving exercises where realistic role playing scenarios are present and as a
team, the participants must together address, confront and solve a situation, using their verbal and possibly even physical skills. Following the role playing exercises, the tape of the scenarios will be reviewed to diagnose and learn from each person’s participation, reaction, or over-reaction. Once participants see themselves on video where they can look at their behavior, body language and reactions, attendees truly recognize the value of the learning experience and take what they have learned into the environments they provide care for or protect, with an entirely new outlook and philosophy.
This training is perfect for any facility that may requests their employees to help out within a crisis at their location, or simply just wants to help their staff react appropriately to a crisis situation, including healthcare, behavioral health, security, general workplace, corporate and governmental.
Each participant will receive a skills evaluation and certificate of completion to place into their files.
